This is Manaus! - Part 1

           Hello! A lot of people think  that in the middle of the Amazon forest there are a lot of trees, monkeys, snakes and much more animals. Now i'm going to say a bit about the brazilian city i was born in: Manaus.

          Manaus is the capital city of  Amazonas state and it is the biggest city of this state, there are 2 millions of people here. See these touristic points photoes:

This is Ponta Negra beach, the most famous beach here!

          This is one of the most famous hotels in Manaus, Tropical Hotel. A lot of famous people sleep there like Iron Maden (when they came to play here, they stayed there), Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Cameron, Bill Clinton and much more.There are a lot of brazilian movies with some scenes there. It is next to Ponta Negra beach.

         This other famous hotel, Ariaú Amazon Towers. It is near to Manaus, just some kilometers away. Had you ever seen him? No? Had you watched the 'Anaconda' movie? So you've seen this hotel before. This movie was filmed there and around it!

          This is 'Teatro Amazonas/Amazonas Opera House'. It is Manaus most famous theater! And in this opera house, every year, happens 'Amazonas Film Festival'. A lot of celebrities come to this movie award, once i saw the producers of 'Star Wars' passing by the red carpet. 10 years ago, moreless, White Stripes played there!

Manaus beaches

         Some say that a picture tells more than a word, so i'm going to show you some photoes of Manaus beaches.

           These are Lily and me at 'Praia da Lua/Lua beach'. As you can see, the biggest river of the world (Amazonas river) is back there!

          This is one of the houses in Lua beach!

           This is the most visited beach of Manaus, Ponta Negra beach. Now it is being totally rebuilt, this picture was taken in 2010.

           This is Ponta Negra beach during Fifa World Cup 2010, in Brazil almost everybody likes soccer.

My country

          Hello! I'm Mr. Rogerney and i'm going to tell you a bit about where i am from! I was born in planet Earth (oh really?)... I was born in north of Brazil in a state called Amazonas, it is the biggest state of Brazil (bigger than England). I live in Manaus (the biggest city of Amazonas state).

          Almost everything here is big (i think you already realized it). In Manaus there are the biggest Mall of Brazil, the biggest river of the world, the biggest bridge of the world that cross a river...

          Unhappily, i don't why, a lot of people think that we're all indians here, just cause Manaus is in the middle of the amazon forest. The people from São Paulo always asks us how many snakes, monkeys we've got in home. This is horrible! I would like to know what people of other contries think about the area i live in!

         

          

Eliane/Lily and me!

          Hello! This couple in the picture is Lily (in the right / my girlfriend) and me. We're going to get married in 11/11/11! I love her so much!

          We decided to get married in this day 'cause of some conspiracy web sites we've been reading! They say something terrible is going to happen in this day (for us it'll be a very happy day)! And after the wedding party (believe it or not) we're goin' to watch the movie '11/11/11' in a movie theater wearing our wedding clothes! Cool right? 11/11/11 is gonna be the most special day of our lives!
